Young Beekeepers

Bees are fascinating and one of the joys of being a beekeeper is to share our fascination with the next generation. Indeed, we should see it as an integral part of our role to educate young people about the importance of pollinators, including our favourite, the honey bee.

We encourage all our Associations to engage with their local schools and youth groups to further this aim. Fortunately, young people find bees as fascinating as we do and are quick to give a beekeeper their attention.

How FIBKA engages with schools

We offer a free educational presentation tool for beekeepers and educators to use in the classroom.  These slide/video presentations, accompanied by notes are available to school teachers by contacting FIBKA directly.

The presentations have been developed in consultation with Primary and Secondary School teachers in all classes, with a TY module also available,  to ensure the information is communicated in the most appropriate way.
